Congratulations to Cathy Weatherford!

The November 21-25, 2016 print edition of InvestmentNews is titled “The Women’s Issue.” While I am not generally a fan of issues that hold themselves out in that way, this edition does “recognize 20 women in the financial advisory industry who have demonstrated success, leadership, an ability to effect change and a willingness to give back to their communities, particularly when it comes to helping other female professionals.” A selection committee at the publication chose these women. 

In this group is Cathy Weatherford, currently President and CEO of the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI). In reading the piece about her, I was particularly struck by her statement of what it takes to be a good leader.
